Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has extended the period for local and international firms to express interest in developing and operating Uligan Yacht Marina, with submissions now open until 5 October 2026.
The application period was previously due to close on 21 September and will now remain open until Monday next week. As MPL continues its search for a developer, the Uligan Yacht Marina has seen progress on other areas of the project this year, including the award of construction to SASe Construction in March and the signing of a land lease agreement with Uligan Council in August.
Construction under MPL focuses on the main marina and access facilities, covering the basin, entry channel, breakwater island, coastal protection, jetty, floating pontoons, security and an international entry facility. The future partner is expected to manage the marina and invest in the designated development land, providing services for berthing, fuel, utilities, waste and technical needs alongside hospitality, leisure and commercial facilities.
