Sweden-based boat hoist manufacturer Sublift has named Eyemouth Marine Limited as its exclusive distributor and service partner for the UK and Ireland, covering equipment sales, servicing, spare parts and technical support.

Sublift, part of the Simrishamn Varv group, has produced self-propelled, submersible boat hoists since the late 1980s. Used by marinas, boatyards and commercial operators, its machines launch and recover sailing yachts, motorboats and commercial vessels in lifting capacities of 12, 25, 50 and 90 tonnes. The business also produces customised machines for military and other specific requirements, serving markets across Europe and internationally in Australia, Malaysia and Mexico.

At its Eyemouth Harbour boatyard in the Scottish Borders, Eyemouth Marine already operates a 50-tonne Sublift for vessel handling. The company provides vessel lifting, maintenance, repair and marine engineering services for commercial and leisure customers. Through the new partnership, it will give customers across the UK and Ireland local access to Sublift equipment, servicing and spare parts.

Björn Andersson, VD/CEO of Simrishamns Varv AB, and Neil Harrison, managing director of Eyemouth Marine, signed the agreement in Simrishamn, Sweden, ahead of its formal launch at the British Marine Scotland Membership Information and Networking Day and AGM in Luss on 28 October.

Harrison stated: “We have worked with Sublift equipment in our own yard for many years, so we know the machines, their capabilities and the importance of dependable aftersales support. This agreement means customers across the UK and Ireland will have a dedicated point of contact for new equipment, servicing, technical support and spare parts. We’re looking forward to working closely with Sublift and supporting both existing owners and new customers across the market.”
