Aquavista has appointed Mark Brooke as chief operating officer, effective 27 July 2026, as the UK marina operator prepares for the next stage of its development across its 33-marina network.

Mark Brooke. Aquavista

Brooke joins Aquavista after recently serving as chief executive officer of community pub operator Amber Taverns. He previously served as managing director of the Proper Pubs division at Admiral Taverns, where he helped build the business. His experience also includes operational roles across the pub, quick-service restaurant and retail sectors.

In his new role, Brooke will lead the day-to-day operation of Aquavista’s 33 marinas across England, with responsibility for customer experience, safety and supporting the teams at the company’s sites.

Brooke stated: “Aquavista is a business with a genuine connection to its customers and its people, and an exciting future ahead. I’m looking forward to getting out to the marinas, meeting the teams and helping the company grow while keeping that connection at its heart.”

The company said Brooke’s appointment is part of a wider strengthening of its leadership team as it prepares for its next stage of development, following investment across its marina portfolio this year.

Aquavista acquired Caen Hill Marina in January and later completed a £1.3 million (approximately $1.7 million USD) redevelopment at Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina in May. The following month, it announced a £1.4 million ($1.8 million) upgrade project at Glasson Waterside & Marina and began refurbishment work at Fettlers Wharf Waterside & Marina in Rufford, Lancashire.

Steve de Polo, chief executive officer of Aquavista, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Mark to Aquavista. We’ve built real momentum as a business, and the next phase of our growth will ask more of our operation. Mark’s experience of scaling multi-site businesses, and his focus on people and service, make him the right person to help us meet that from a position of strength.”
