Aquavista is investing £1.4 million ($1.8 million USD) at Glasson Waterside & Marina in Lancaster, United Kingdom, to upgrade pontoons, utilities and safety systems. Work is due to begin this month and will take place in phases over a three-month period.

Located in Glasson on the northwest coast of England, the marina has more than 150 leisure berths, along with visitor and winter mooring options. On-site facilities include serviced jetties, laundry and shower facilities, waste and recycling points, parking, a 50-tonne hoist and boat maintenance services.

The investment includes a new configuration of floating pontoons and installation of GRP mesh Duradeck surfacing, which will be added in selected areas. Utility upgrades include new electricity and water bollards with customer-controlled electric metering systems. Safety improvements across the marina include new safety ladders and life rings.

Aquavista will work in partnership with pontoon specialist Solent Marine, which also took part in the company’s recent £1.3 million ($1.7 million) upgrade at Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina.

Ian Parker, marina manager, said: “We’re delighted to confirm this major investment in Glasson Waterside & Marina. These improvements will significantly modernise the marina, enhance safety and convenience for berth holders, and strengthen the overall customer experience for years to come. We’d like to thank all berth holders for their patience and continued support while these exciting improvements are delivered.”
