Marinas de España has signed a collaboration agreement with Soluciones Verdes, a consultancy specialising in sustainability and regulatory compliance, to promote sustainable practices across marinas, yacht clubs and nautical facilities throughout Spain.

Marinas de España

The initiative aims to help sites and facilities comply with evolving environmental regulations, align with European standards and improve their operational efficiency.

Under the agreement, Soluciones Verdes will offer consultancy services in areas such as carbon footprint assessment, waste management, energy efficiency and environmental certification. Each project will follow the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ESG principles, with an accredited body certifying compliance with the relevant environmental and quality standards.

Carlos Bermejo, CEO of Soluciones Verdes, said that they aim for Spanish marinas to become “recognised examples of sustainability and efficiency”, noting that environmental management “protects natural surroundings and can also provide economic and reputational value”.

Tomás Azcárate, president of Marinas de España, mentioned that sustainability has become “a strategic focus for the future of marinas”, and that the agreement will help promote “more efficient and environmentally conscious management” across the sector.

The new partnership will be presented at the Marinas de España Congress, taking place in Puerto Sotogrande from 12 to 14 November 2025. The event will bring together more than 200 professionals from the nautical sector, including executives, managers and representatives from marinas and nautical clubs.

Marinas de España represents more than 150 marinas and tourist ports with over 46,000 berths across nine coastal regions, including Andalusia, Asturias, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Catalonia, Galicia, Murcia and Valencia.
