Modernisation works at Tourlos Marina in Greece are progressing as the Mykonos Port Fund continues a series of infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving conditions for vessels mooring at the site.

The ongoing project includes repairing and restoring the marina’s quay, where cement slabs are being placed to strengthen and protect the structure. Crews are also repairing the ramp used for launching and hauling boats. Excavations behind the artificial boulders are also being filled with graded material.

Work on the islet’s upper structure has also advanced. Wooden formwork has been completed, and concreting is scheduled next. The final phase will involve concreting the remaining upper structure elements and installing new mooring posts and fenders to support vessels docking at the marina.

According to the President of the Port Fund, Athanasios Kousathanas-Megas, the purpose of the modernisation is to “provide even better service to the docked vessels”, and he added that the effort forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen the yachting sector. He stated that the development, combined with cruising activity, contributes to “the qualitative upgrade of the island and the income support of the local economy”.
