SF Marina and DualDocker have supplied the floating pontoon and high-damping mooring system for the new commuter boat pier at Nacka Strand in Stockholm, Sweden, which began serving passengers in August through Stockholm’s public transport operator, SL, and Skärgårdstrafiken after opening to the public in July.

Positioned between the two previous piers near Augustendalsvägen 41, the new facility uses an SF Marina pontoon measuring 36 metres long and eight metres wide, with a weight of 300 tonnes. It is fitted with 12 DualDocker 250 kN high-damping units, specified at ±500 mm. Nacka Municipality said the pier can accommodate more than one vessel at a time and provides a more accessible point for services as demand for boat travel increases.

The pier is part of wider plans for Nacka Strand, which is expected to include around 1,800 new homes, with about 750 already completed. Other projects include upgrades to Ellenviksvägen, a stormwater park, changes to the square near Restaurant J and the renewal of Strandparken, alongside improvements to public spaces and transport connections.
