The City of Panama City has partnered with St. Andrews Marina Partners (SAMP) and Coastal Marina Management (CMM) to manage and redevelop St. Andrews Marina. The agreement took effect on 1 April 2026 as work continues to restore and improve the site following damage caused by Hurricane Michael.

Originally built in 1960, the marina is part of the local waterfront, supporting boating, fishing and charter activities. It includes boat slips, a fishing pier, a fuel dock, pump-out services, restrooms, showers and a ship store.

Work is ongoing to repair earlier damage and improve infrastructure, including electrical systems, sewer connections and surrounding facilities. Plans also include increasing the number of slips to more than 150.

As part of the transition, SAMP and CMM have appointed Jason Lent as harbourmaster. He will manage dock activities, customer service and daily waterfront operations. Lent has worked in marina management since the mid-1990s and is from St. Andrews.

“I was born here, I grew up here and I have always loved the marina. When I became aware of the plan and the vision for the future of the marina, it felt like it was a perfect match for me and my experience, and I am honoured to have this opportunity in my hometown,” said Lent.

“There was a lot of interest in this position. We feel fortunate to have found a highly qualified harbourmaster candidate, with extensive marina management experience, who also has deep-rooted local ties. It’s why we know Jason is a perfect fit for the St. Andrews Marina today and going forward,” said Scott Burt, owner of Coastal Marina Management.
