The Marina Industries Association (MIA) will return to Brisbane for the next edition of its biennial international conference and trade exhibition, taking place at The Star Brisbane from 28-30 May 2028 following the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

Marinas28 is expected to draw more than 400 marina and club operators, owners, vendors and government representatives to the Queensland capital, continuing the event’s focus on the marina industry across Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. The event will follow this year’s conference on the Gold Coast, which recorded its highest attendance, as well as Marinas24, which was also hosted in Brisbane.

For the next edition, delegates will gather in a different part of the city at The Star Brisbane in Queen’s Wharf, on the banks of the Brisbane River. The venue is the centrepiece of the $3.6 billion AUD Queen’s Wharf redevelopment, home to a purpose-built event centre that has the largest ballroom in the Brisbane CBD. Across the precinct, delegates can choose from different accommodation options and more than 50 restaurants and bars, complemented by heritage laneways, a 12,000sqm open-air leisure deck and direct access to the riverside promenade.

MIA said the selection of Brisbane reflects the city’s growing profile ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which are driving investment in infrastructure, hospitality and public spaces. The city’s development also extends to local marina facilities, giving Marinas28 new options for its study tour.
