Moving into its implementation phase, the modernisation project at the Jerzy Porębski Yacht Port in the Northern Basin in Świnoujście, Poland, has received the first sections of new floating pontoons as the port remains closed until March 2027.
The redesigned Baltic Sea marina is expected to increase capacity from 350 to 470 vessels and provide space for 54 personal watercraft. Upgrades will remove 15 existing floating pontoons and the current jet ski berth, replacing them with 21 new floating structures secured on steel piles, alongside dedicated facilities for harbour services and refuelling.
Marina services will also be upgraded, including new electricity and water supply points, modifications to the utility networks and telecommunications systems. A harbourmaster’s pontoon will be fitted with a container providing storage and staff facilities for marina operations.
Led by the city of Świnoujście, the 23.1 million PLN ($6.1 million USD) project has secured 12.9 million PLN ($3.4 million) from the European Regional Development Fund under the European Funds for Western Pomerania 2021-2027 programme.
