In a new Mid-Atlantic transaction, SVN Marinas represented the seller and procured the buyer for the confidential sale of Skipjack Cove Marina in Georgetown, Maryland. The buyer is an experienced marina operator with an established presence in the Chesapeake Bay market.

Skipjack Cove is a full-service marina and waterfront resort with approximately 359 covered and uncovered wet slips, as well as transient dockage, haul-out services, dry storage and fuel services at the property. On land, the property has an on-site restaurant, swimming pools, recreational courts and gathering areas for seasonal slip holders and visiting boaters.
The marina lies along the Sassafras River in Georgetown, Cecil County, with a direct route to the Upper Chesapeake Bay. Its location serves an established boating market spanning Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania, with connections to the Baltimore, Wilmington and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
Representing the seller and procuring the buyer, SVN Marinas completed the transaction through a confidential process, combining direct outreach to qualified marina operators and investors alongside its national network. The buyer is an experienced marina operator with an established presence in the Chesapeake Bay market and owns Georgetown Yacht Haven, a nearby 300-slip full-service marina.
David Kendall, CCIM, Josh Sheppard and Brian Arnold advised the seller, while Brent Miller of SVN Miller Commercial Real Estate served as Maryland Broker of Record.
Managing director David Kendall said: “The sale of Skipjack Cove demonstrates the value of a disciplined, targeted process for a specialised waterfront asset. By approaching qualified operators directly and managing the process discreetly, we connected the seller with an experienced buyer whose existing presence at Georgetown Yacht Haven, operating capabilities and familiarity with the Chesapeake Bay market aligned well with the property. We are proud to have delivered a successful outcome while protecting the confidentiality of the parties.”
Senior advisor Brian Arnold commented: “Skipjack Cove is distinguished by its scale, protected location, full-service capabilities and resort-style amenities. Those attributes position the marina well within one of the Mid-Atlantic’s most established boating regions and generated interest from sophisticated operators seeking durable marine infrastructure and long-term growth potential.”
Skipjack Cove Marina is the latest Mid-Atlantic marina to change hands in a series of SVN Marinas transactions. It follows three Virginia marinas: Coles Point Marina, which closed in late 2025; Little Creek Marina in Norfolk, which closed in March 2026; and Hope Springs Marina in Stafford, which closed in May 2026. The firm is also currently marketing Lighthouse Point Marina in Baltimore, Maryland.
In a June market insight, SVN Marinas said the Chesapeake Bay and wider Mid-Atlantic boating corridor benefit from strong boating participation, major waterway access and limited waterfront inventory, a combination that continues to fuel investor interest in waterfront properties. The firm pointed to environmental and coastal constraints limiting new marina development as a growing barrier to new supply, adding that buyers are assessing properties based on operational efficiency, recurring revenue, waterfront control and portfolio potential.
