Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has signed a new agreement with The O’Neil Group to continue operating the North Shore Marina at Lake Pueblo State Park until 2045. The contract allows the replacement of the existing marina on Pueblo Reservoir.

North Shore Marina

“This contract ensures services at the North Shore Marina continue in support of park guests and their recreational opportunities. It also reflects CPW’s commitment that amenities at Lake Pueblo State Park are managed responsibly with the public’s best interest in mind,” said Becky Buist, Operations Manager for Lake Pueblo State Park.

The O’Neil Group said plans for the new marina are in the final stages. The facility will include 715 slips capable of holding vessels up to 20 metres (65ft) in length. A general store will add a restaurant, laundry services, expanded fuel capacity and additional pump-out stations.

Kevin O’Neil, owner of The O’Neil Group, stated: “We are excited to work with CPW to build the new marina for Lake Pueblo State Park. We look forward to serving Pueblo and the community at large for many years to come.”

Kelli O’Neil, North Shore Marina Operations Manager, addressed renters who have faced reduced amenities during recent seasons: “We know it has been challenging to go without power and other marina amenities, but the wait will soon be over for our loyal slip renters.”

The marina currently provides on-lake towing, mechanical assistance, boat slips, fuel and food, as well as facilities such as bathrooms, showers, a clubhouse, storage and a pump-out station.

Lake Pueblo State Park attracts nearly three million visitors each year for boating, fishing, camping, swimming and hiking. Marinas operate on both the north and south shores of the lake. “This milestone reflects our shared commitment to preserving, enhancing, and providing access to Colorado’s beautiful natural resources,” said Kevin O’Neil.
