The Port Alberni Port Authority in British Columbia, Canada, has announced that Harbour Quay Marina is now known as Alberni Lighthouse Marina, with the change in place from 1 January 2026. The update applies to the recreational marina located within Alberni Harbour and adopts a name that has been widely used by residents and boaters over many years.

The marina sits beside the lighthouse pier, where a replica West Coast lighthouse stands as a familiar sight in the harbour. The structure is commonly used as a point of reference when describing the marina’s location, and the new name reflects that established local practice.
Alberni Lighthouse Marina is located in downtown Port Alberni on Harbour Road, next to the Port Authority terminals and the Harbour Quay waterfront. From the marina, visitors have access to nearby shops, galleries, dining areas, community spaces and the Alberni Pacific Railway.
Owned and operated by the Port Alberni Port Authority, the marina provides 15 berths and more than 2,000ft (610 metres) of side-tie moorage. Each berth includes access to potable water and electrical service. Additional amenities include washrooms, showers and laundry services.
The lighthouse pier is home to the Maritime Heritage Discovery Centre and the Hutchison Gallery, both operated by the Maritime Heritage Society on Port Authority lands. The surrounding area offers views of vessel movements and harbour activity, with public access along the breakwater.
