Suntex Marina Investors LLC, together with Centerbridge Partners, L.P. and its affiliates, has acquired Kinship Marina in Ventura, Southern California. Announced on 16 June 2026, the acquisition includes plans for infrastructure upgrades and slip redevelopment.

The marina is located between Ventura’s downtown area and access routes to the Channel Islands National Park. It offers 40 wet slips and 80 dry storage spaces for recreational boaters and commercial vessels.

On site, the marina also features Waters Edge Restaurant and Derecktor Ventura, a full-service boatyard for repair and maintenance services. MAVCCO Market Fuel and Bait also operates as a family-owned fuel dock, while Ventura Sportfishing runs charter operations and offers professional multi-day excursions.

Suntex said it plans to redevelop the marina’s wet slips, along with improvements to infrastructure and vessel accommodation to support long-term operations at the site.

Michael Warntjes, senior vice president of operations for Suntex Marinas, said: “We are incredibly excited to establish a presence in Ventura Harbor and to invest in elevating Kinship Marina into a true best-in-class coastal destination. The harbour’s unique character and strategic location create a strong foundation for us to enhance the asset through thoughtful redevelopment and deliver an exceptional experience for both recreational and commercial vessel customers.”

Tom Derecktor, partner for Kinship Marina and Derecktor Ventura Boatyard, stated: “Kinship Marina has long been a special part of the Ventura boating community, and we are excited to see it jump to the highest level with Suntex. Their commitment to exceptional customer experiences, operational excellence and first-class facilities will build upon the strong foundation established at the marina. We are confident this transition will enhance the property, create lasting value for boaters and guests, and preserve the unique character that makes Kinship Marina such a remarkable destination.”
