The Township of Champlain will assume direct management of the L’Orignal Marina in eastern Ontario beginning in the 2026 boating season, following the end of the operating agreement with Riverest Inc.

Normand Riopel, Mayor of Champlain Township said: “We extend our sincere thanks to Riverest Inc. for their dedication and service over the past five seasons and wish their team success in future endeavours.”
According to Info-Marina.ca, the marina has 50 berths, transient docking space and can accommodate vessels up to 38ft (11 metres) in length. Fuel services include gasoline, and restaurants and retail stores are located nearby.
In a report by James Morgan of The Review, Champlain Township Council approved an agreement with Riverest Inc. in 2021. Under the agreement, the contractor was tasked with operating the marina for a minimum of five years. The agreement also included a secondary five-year renewal option, which remained at the discretion of Champlain Township and the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
Before the 2021 agreement, the L’Orignal Marina was operated directly by the Township of Champlain’s Parks and Recreation Department. Management will shift back to the same department in 2026.
