Falmouth Marina has completed the first phase of its pontoon works with Walcon Marine, after the project began in December 2025 as part of Premier Marinas’ £2 million (more than $2.6 million USD) investment programme.

Premier Marinas has owned Falmouth Marina since 1998 and has invested in projects at the site, including a dedicated boat lift area, the incorporation of Port Falmouth Boatyard, additional pontoons, dry stack facilities and upgrades to customer amenities.

For its latest upgrade, the marina worked with Walcon Marine, a specialist in the design, construction and installation of marinas and berthing facilities, for the four-month initial phase of the project. They replaced the 40-year-old pontoon along the main walkway with updated services for berth holders, while also completing the first stage of dredging around the outside basin to clear access ways for vessels entering the marina.

Mark Evans, marina manager at Falmouth Marina, said the renewal of the main walkway had been the most difficult part of the project to deliver but had made a positive difference. “We would like to thank our berth holders for their patience while these works were completed. We know how valuable time on the water is, particularly during the boating season, so completing the upgrades ahead of peak season was a key priority.”

From winter 2026, work at the marina will resume with upgrades to existing pontoons and the addition of a new gangway. Further improvements are planned for electrical points, lighting bollards, water, fuel and connectivity systems. Dredging will continue across the marina, and communal areas, including the reception, are also due to be refurbished.

Evans added: “We’re pleased to see our customers already making the most of the improvements and observing the noise reduction, especially at night. We look forward to delivering further enhancements as the next phases of the project move into delivery.”
