D-Marin has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal for its environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance. The award places the company among the top performers in a global assessment, recognising sustainability practices across its marina network.

The EcoVadis assessment evaluates companies through three pillars: policies, actions and results, and seven indicators: policies, endorsements, measures, certifications, coverage, reporting and 360° watch findings. In D-Marin’s case, the evaluation covered environmental impact, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
D-Marin’s portfolio includes 26 marinas that have earned Blue Flag accreditation, a certification recognising environmental and quality standards. The company reported a 22 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared with 2021 levels. It has set a long-term target to reduce emissions by 42 percent by 2030, in line with the Science Based Targets initiative and the Paris Agreement.

The network has also expanded its use of renewable energy across its marinas. It has installed 5 MW of solar capacity at sites in Turkey, Croatia and Italy and invested an additional €1.5 million ($1.7 million USD) in solar projects over the past year. In Croatia, all marinas now operate entirely on certified renewable electricity.
Waste management and marine protection also contributed to the award. More than 15 tonnes of waste were handled across the network last year, with 30 percent recycled. Technologies such as Jellyfishbot devices and DPOL® systems removed over five tonnes of marine debris, supported by volunteer seabed and beach clean-ups.
D-Marin also reported a 13 percent decrease in waste volumes over three years, supported by circular-economy measures.

“Biohuts” are artificial nurseries developed with Ecocean that support natural marine repopulation and ecosystem restoration. The programme was first introduced at the Camille Rayon marina in France and has since been expanded to D-Marin Dalmacija in Croatia, D-Marin Gouvia in Greece and D-Marin Porto Mirabello in Italy.
“At D-Marin, we are committed to excellence across all ESG pillars and to strengthening our performance at every opportunity. Our mission is to minimise our environmental impact, drive positive social progress and uphold the highest standards of governance expected by our stakeholders. Earning the EcoVadis Gold Medal is a proud milestone that recognises our ongoing dedication to sustainability, and we remain firmly committed to shaping a more sustainable future for all,” said Korina Kostakaki, Head of Sustainability at D-Marin.

Employee engagement was another area highlighted in the assessment. D-Marin reported an Employee Net Promoter Score of 71 in 2025, up from 37 in 2021.
“Our people are at the heart of everything we do. This year’s results reflect the impact of our continued investment in learning, well-being and inclusive leadership. We are proud of the progress made and remain committed to creating a workplace where every colleague feels valued, supported and empowered to thrive,” said Christina Samoulada, CHRO of D-Marin.
Founded in 2003, D-Marin operates marinas across nine countries and serves more than 50,000 customers annually. The company manages 12 boatyards that handle over 2,500 vessels each year. D-marin reports over €10 million ($11.7 million) invested in IT systems to support operations and maintain ESG and health and safety standards.
