According to Lusa, the investment follows a memorandum of understanding signed between The Firm of Strategic Investments group and the Mozambique Investment and Export Promotion Agency, formalised during an international tourism conference in Inhambane on 3 and 4 November.

Government spokesman Inocêncio Impissa confirmed the project, describing it as “an integrated tourist resort that includes a marina, a world-class ecological reserve.” Impissa also mentioned that investments totalling $252 million were announced for the province over the next five years.

In a related initiative, South African company Singita plans to invest $102 million in a luxury tourism project on Santa Carolina Island, also in Inhambane. The proposal includes a 60-bed resort and additional ecological projects within the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park.
