After a period of closure due to storm-related damage, Yacht Harbour Marina at South Seas on Captiva Island has reopened with a range of infrastructure upgrades designed to enhance resilience and guest experience. As part of the South Seas destination, the marina offers visiting boaters a renewed gateway to the Gulf Coast of Florida.

The reopening marks a milestone in the post-storm recovery of the South Seas, long recognised as a preferred port of call for vessels navigating Florida’s southwest waters. Prioritising long-term durability, the marina now features newly elevated pedestal risers that keep electrical and utility hookups safely above potential storm surge levels.
Charles Martz, Director of Marina Operations at South Seas, says, “The pedestal risers lift them up higher off the dock, so potentially, when we get another storm, we can reopen the marina more quickly. We’ve also rerouted all of our fuel lines to the marina and all new electrical runs as well. Everything’s up to date and new—ready to get the marina operational and fun.”

The functional upgrades are paired with full-service capabilities. Yacht Harbour Marina can accommodate a wide range of vessels, from centre consoles stopping in for a day trip to yachts up to 40-metres (130-feet) in length. The marina also offers services such as fuel, live and frozen bait, fishing gear, ice, fresh water and modern power systems at each slip.

With upgraded facilities and a renewed commitment to resilience and guest satisfaction, Yacht Harbour Marina is once again positioned as a marina destination on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Open and fully operational, the marina resumes service to visiting vessels, with upgrades aimed to enhance storm resilience and continued operations.
