Viltec Vilanova Design has installed 140 service pedestals at Bermeo Marina, within the Port of Bermeo in northern Spain, with works completed on 17 April under a tender issued by Euskadiko Kirol Portuak.

Viltec Vilanova Design

Viltec Vilanova Design manufactures service pedestals for ports, marinas as well as dry docks, and provides installation, commissioning and related services.

The project added electrical and water service pedestals across the marina using Viltec’s compact model made from recycled urban polyethylene. The units were configured as 2x16A MF + 2 AP and 4x16A MF + 2 AP.

The work began with a site visit and assessment, followed by design and manufacturing. On site, older pedestals were removed and replaced with new units, after which the system was checked and software training was provided.

Port of Bermeo

In March 2025, the Basque Government announced a €2.5 million (approximately $2.7 million USD) investment for the Port of Bermeo to improve facilities for recreational vessels. Plans include the expansion of the Artza basin, along with remote-controlled service pedestals and a new harbourmaster’s office.

The port lies along the Bay of Biscay near Cape Matxitxako in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve and supports both fishing and recreational boating. Bermeo Marina is located in the old port area and provides 346 berths and 30 mooring buoys.
