Vilamoura Marina has once again won as the “Best Portuguese Marina” award at the Publituris Portugal Travel Awards 2025, held on 3 July at the Vila Galé Collection Elvas Hotel. The event marks the 14th consecutive year the marina has received the distinction, reinforcing its role in Portugal’s recreational maritime landscape.

Vilamoura Marina

Located in the Algarve, Vilamoura Marina continues to stand out for its infrastructure, services and strategic development. The marina offers 825 berths to accommodate vessels up to 60-metres.

Facilities include a fully equipped boatyard with dry storage for 200 boats, do-it-yourself work areas and a range of technical services including towing, hull cleaning and crane operations. A 60-tonnes travel hoist and additional lifts of two and six-tonnes support maintenance needs, alongside forklift and stack storage options.

Visitors and residents have access to cafés, waterside bars and restaurants, general stores, supermarkets, banks and boutiques. Leisure activities include boat charters, big game fishing, scuba diving, jet-ski rentals and bicycle hire. The marina is also equipped with a fuel jetty, chandlery and water and electricity supply at berths.

The 2025 award follows the marina’s 50th anniversary and the recent inauguration of Vilamoura Marina’s new extension. The extension adds three new pontoons and 68 berths for larger vessels between 20 and 40-metres. The new berths are equipped with updated technologies in line with current environmental and service standards.

Isolete Correia, CEO of Vilamoura Marina, commented: “We are immensely proud to receive this distinction, which reflects the trust placed in the quality of our infrastructure and services by both industry experts and the public. This award is especially meaningful, as it significantly contributes to the international reputation and projection of Vilamoura Marina. We would also like to extend our appreciation and congratulations to the other nominees for their outstanding work in promoting Portugal as a destination for recreational boating.”

The recognition reflects customer satisfaction and is based on several criteria, including innovation, media visibility, national and international honours, and statistical performance. The evaluation period for the latest award covered the developments and performance of 2024.

Vilamoura Marina also plays a role in hosting both national and international sailing events, including regattas and Olympic training camps. The marina is home to a professional sailing training centre and regularly features the Vilamoura Marina International Boat Show.

Beyond the marina, Vilamoura’s broader development plans remain active. Projects under way include new sports and leisure facilities, as well as residential and tourism developments.
