The Port Authority of Valencia (Valenciaport) has awarded a €2,257,841 ($2.5 million USD) contract to repair the elevated promenade at La Marina de València, covering structural repairs, pedestrian access and safety improvements over a 15-month period following contract formalisation.

A joint venture between Sorigué-Acsa Conservación de Infraestructuras and ACSA Obras e Infraestructuras secured the contract to clean, repair and apply protective treatments to the promenade’s metal structure to preserve its condition over time. Contractors will also repair benches and the pergola close to the port entrance, renew access stairs, reinforce handrails and upgrade lighting along the pedestrian route.

To promote the use of renewable energy, Valenciaport requires contractors to avoid using combustion-engine-powered generators and compressors and to manage reusable materials through an authorised waste handler during construction. The project adds to Valenciaport’s other waterfront initiatives, including upgrades to customs quay and the clock building area, and plans to relocate the old lighthouse.
