Masar Group, part of Mumtalakat Holding Company, has signed an agreement with Ithmaar Development Company (IDC) to manage and operate Dilmunia Marina, which is expected to open in December 2026. Announced on 1 November during the Gateway Gulf 2026 Investment Forum in Manama, the agreement aims to support marine tourism and expand marina services in Bahrain.

Commenting on the agreement, Masar Group chief executive Yousif Khalifa Al Mana said it supports the group’s plans to expand its marine facility management activities and work more closely with partners on coastal projects that contribute to Bahrain’s economy and tourism sector. He added that the company plans to introduce marine technologies to improve daily operations and service quality at Dilmunia Marina.
Naif Nasser Al Nasser, managing director and board member of IDC, said the marina would contribute to the kingdom’s marine tourism sector through its facilities and visitor services. He also expressed confidence that the partnership would support Dilmunia Island’s wider development as a destination for boating and leisure activities, highlighting the importance of working with specialist operators to maintain service quality and manage the marina’s operations.
Dilmunia Marina covers approximately 15,000sqm on the northern side of Dilmunia Island and is designed to accommodate 118 vessels across 68 wet berths for those up to 13 metres long and 50 dry storage spaces. The marina will also provide 10 dedicated jet ski berths, about 580 metres of modular floating pontoons designed and built by United Marine Trading in collaboration with Poralu Marine and Rolec Services, and a public promenade around the marina basin. Masar Group will also develop additional facilities at the site such as a members’ lounge, a marine training centre and a water transport station.
