Foundation and coastal protection works are progressing on the new slipway at Tarbert Harbour in Scotland, preparing the site for the next phase of construction. The project remains scheduled to continue through March 2027.

According to the latest contractor’s report, rock armour installation is continuing along the seaward side of the development, and layers of stone and reinforcing material are being laid to strengthen the slipway base. Sections of pipe have also been installed for the culvert extension, supported by approximately 3,900 tonnes of stone brought to the site during September.

With a total budget of £2.2 million ($2.9 million USD), the project aims to improve marina access and facilities for leisure and commercial vessels, including 30 additional parking spaces, a kayak pontoon and a boat launch and retrieval system capable of lifting vessels weighing up to 25 tonnes.

Tarbert (Loch Fyne) Harbour Authority (THA) awarded the £1.6 million ($2.1 million) construction contract to Northern Ireland-based Charles Brand following a competitive tendering process. THA is funding the project with support from Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Crown Estate Scotland through Argyll and Bute Council, and Skipness Community Trust.
