The City of Umatilla Marina and RV Park has received the 2025 Golden Anchor Award from the Oregon State Marine Board’s Clean Marina Program. The award was presented during a city council meeting and highlights the marina’s approach to environmental care, safety and daily operations.

The marina serves the local community and offers 90 covered moorage slips, along with one dock with open berths. The facility includes a fuel station, a sewage pump-out station and oil spill response containers at each gangway.
Covered dumpsters and a fish cleaning station are located across the site, with parking areas including both gravel and paved sections.
During the 2025 Clean Marina re-certification process, the marina added a used fishing line recycling point near the fish cleaning station, working with Marty Olson, a local Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife STEP biologist.

The award was presented by Clean Marina Program coordinator Glenn Dolphin to marina manager Salud Campos at the city’s monthly council meeting on 7 April 2026.
Campos said: “The Clean Marina Program has provided clear standards that help us maintain consistent procedures throughout our facility. As a result, our day-to-day operations are safer, smoother and more reliable for all boaters. The certification also demonstrates our strong compliance with state and environmental regulations, which gives slip holders and visitors confidence that the marina is well-managed and safe.”
Run by the Oregon State Marine Board, the programme supports marinas, boatyards, yacht clubs and floating home moorages in improving water quality through responsible practices. According to the board, there are 65 certified Clean Marinas in Oregon, out of about 175 public and private marinas across the state.
