Following its June 2026 acquisition of Moniga Porto Nautica on Lake Garda, Balmaris has acquired a 51 percent stake in Porto Turistico di Jesolo near Venice as its second marina in northern Italy. Marvit, the investment holding company of Stefano Marzotto, will hold a 49 percent stake and partner with Balmaris on the marina’s development.

Set along the left bank of the Sile River, Porto Turistico di Jesolo has more than 600 berths and direct access to the Adriatic Sea and the Venetian Lagoon. The marina combines boatyard services, including travel lifts capable of handling vessels up to 100 tonnes, with more than 7,000sqm of covered dry storage, a fuel station, swimming pool and restaurant.
Marzotto became a shareholder in 2021 and took full ownership of the marina in 2025, investing more than €10 million ($11 million USD) in its development. With the new partnership, Balmaris and Marvit plan to upgrade the boatyard and infrastructure and introduce additional hospitality services and boat dealerships at the site. The marina’s board will be chaired by Marzotto, who will represent Marvit alongside Carlo Molon. Derek van Brussel, Tommaso Gino and Andreas Schryvers will represent Balmaris, and Federica Biondi will continue as chief executive officer, leading the existing management team.
Marzotto commented: “In recent years we have significantly invested to make Porto Turistico di Jesolo a reference marina in the Adriatic. In the Balmaris team, we have found a committed partner who shares our vision of a full-service marina equipped to serve the most demanding clients. The Balcaen family and the Balmaris team are sailors themselves, and understand how to further improve our offering. We are confident that with Balmaris what we have built in Jesolo will be preserved, and we will keep developing the marina together.”
Van Brussel highlighted the marina’s location near Venice, its existing infrastructure and loyal customer base, and said the acquisition reflected Balmaris’ commitment to working closely with marina owners.
He added: “Stefano Marzotto owns businesses built over generations and invested significantly in this marina, and we worked with him and his team on a structure that fits their needs. That flexibility, combined with the long-term horizon of a company backed by a family holding, is what we offer families like his. We are grateful for the trust he has placed in us in this partnership. With Moniga and now Jesolo, we have two leading marinas in northern Italy, and we continue to look for more opportunities in Italy and across Europe.”
Baldi Prati & Partners’ Francesca Baldi, Ilaria Ballabeni and Matteo Bedogna provided legal and financial advice to Balmaris. Marvit received legal advice from Luca Saraceni and Alessandra Mioni of Osborne Clarke, and corporate and financial advice from Alberto Giacobbo and Andrea Manetti of Giacobbo & Associati.
