The Swan Yacht Club in East Fremantle, Western Australia, has completed a marina extension with the delivery of a new floating wave attenuator, adding 32 berths for members and guests. The project was carried out by Livart Marine, which designed, fabricated and supplied the system.

The wave attenuator, measuring four metres wide and 200 metres long, was built at Livart’s new manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China. The structure was divided into two-metre modules, shipped in open-top containers to Fremantle and assembled on site.

Once connected, the system formed a 1.8-metre-deep barrier with a 700mm freeboard, designed to limit wave impact while maintaining stability and durability. A connecting jetty was constructed using Livart’s aluminium system, fitted with FRP micro mesh decking and styrene-filled flotation units.

Swan Yacht Club General Manager Damien Gaspar said: “This project demonstrates Livart Marine’s ability to deliver high-quality, prefabricated marina systems efficiently and with client-driven flexibility. The Swan Yacht Club now benefits from a modern, floating marina environment built to international standards.”

The installation process was managed by the club itself, with Livart supplying pre-engineered infrastructure, manuals and instructional videos. Remote technical support was available throughout the build to address any on-site queries.

Swan Yacht Club operates over 250 berths in total. The club also provides ramp access, limited hard stand facilities and slipway services. Members and visitors can also make use of the onshore clubhouse facilities overlooking the Swan River.

The new berths, ranging between nine and 25 metres, are now open for lease.
