According to a report by Ahmad Garnett of The Star Democrat, construction started in November last year with funding support of $3.6 million USD from DNR and $1.3 million from Commerce.

The marina includes 70 mooring slips, a public boat ramp, a soft-landing area for paddlers and picnic tables. As part of the renovation, new piers, finger piers, a pump-out station, electrical services and plumbing were installed, while the boat ramp and seawall were replaced.

Other work included improvements to parking areas, dredge disposal site clearing and engineering, fuel station planning and utility upgrades.

In a social media post, Caroline County Recreation and Parks also recognised Gipe Engineering, Lane Engineering, Sweitzer Marine, Shipp Electric, Bay Imprint, Caroline Review and Mickey Pullen for their contributions to the project.
