A redevelopment programme valued at more than £1 million (about $1.3 million USD) has been approved for Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina in England. Aquavista announced the investment, which will be used to update infrastructure and facilities at the marina.

From January 2026, existing pontoons at the marina will be replaced with anti-slip GRP mesh Duradeck supplied by Solent Marine. The works will also add new utility bollards and safety equipment, along with changes to the marina layout that will increase capacity to 156 berths.
Other plans include the addition of five ensuite bathrooms, improvements to Wi-Fi coverage, upgraded CCTV systems and changes to the wet dock. A dog-wash station will be added, alongside further visual updates across the site.
Paula Hewitt, marina manager at Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina, said: “This investment represents an exciting new chapter for the marina. Our goal is to create first-class facilities, enhance the visual appeal of the site and elevate the waterside experience for all our customers.”
Aquavista has confirmed that residential moorings will be introduced at the marina from 1 April 2026. The residential option will allow the marina to be used as a registered UK address and will include access to a lockable post box, a storage box and other free services.
Deborah Hunt, sales & marketing director at Aquavista, said: “This investment will transform the marina and firmly establish it as a fantastic place for our moorers to live, relax and enjoy their time on the water.”
The marina currently operates with serviced jetties providing metered electricity and water, fuel supplies, pump-out and Elsan disposal, wet dock access, storage sheds and an on-site boat sales office.
The Nottingham site is the latest marina to receive funding under Aquavista’s wider investment programme. Over the past 12 months, refurbishment projects have taken place at Crick Marina and Buckden Marina.
