PORT 32 Marinas has completed a renovation at Portside Marina in Morehead City, following its acquisition of the site in 2024. The updates focus on storage, fuelling and site systems.

The marina is situated along the Intracoastal Waterway on Bogue Sound, near Beaufort Inlet and next to the Port of Morehead. It is within North Carolina’s “Crystal Coast”, where vessels travel between offshore fishing areas, cruising and coastal routes.
Acquired in 2024, Portside Marina was PORT 32’s first marina outside of Florida. The marina now offers 253 outdoor dry storage racks designed to withstand Category 3 hurricane conditions for vessels of up to 36ft (11 metres), along with 12 transient slips for vessels of up to 125ft (38 metres). The site also includes a fuel dock, marine repair services, a ship store and concierge services.
PORT 32 has upgraded all dockside electrical systems, shipped an upgraded marina forklift to the property and acquired a new marine forklift to support vessel handling and storage.
Fuel infrastructure has also been expanded for both resident and visiting vessels, with a 6,000-gallon gasoline tank and a 12,000-gallon diesel tank added on site. Interior dry storage racks have been repainted as part of a wider initiative, and other updates include changes to landscaping and an increase in on-site parking.
Austin Schell, CEO of PORT 32 Marinas, said: “Portside Marina is a cornerstone of our North Carolina presence, and this renovation reflects the depth of our commitment to the Morehead City boating community. Every enhancement we have made, from hurricane-proof dry storage and expanded fuelling capabilities to upgraded electrical systems and a new marine forklift, is designed to give our members more confidence and more convenience for a more enjoyable time on the water.”
