Port Denarau Marina Ltd in Fiji has invited expressions of interest from marine civil contractors for the audit and upgrade of Jetty A, a ferry embarkation and disembarkation facility.

Jetty A was built in 2013 and has served passengers for more than a decade. With rising ferry demand, Port Denarau Marina Ltd aims to strengthen its structure, improve passenger flow and upgrade essential utilities.
The planned works will start with a structural audit before addressing raked pile collars and buffer piles. The deck will be widened by one metre along its 74-metre length to ease passenger movement during peak times.
Utility upgrades are also included, covering new electrical cabling, distribution lines and provisions for ICT, potable water and fuel. Additional safety features such as lighting, bollards, fendering, edge protection and an emergency access route are part of the design.
The marina operator confirmed that the project will follow Fiji’s building codes, PIANC guidelines, Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji requirements and occupational health and safety standards. Contractors will be evaluated on relevant marine civil works experience, technical capacity to work in live marina environments, resources, health and safety systems, and financial stability.
The expressions of interest will close on 5 September 2025. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a request for tender process in September. Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2025 and is expected to be completed by February 2026, with a projected duration of 12 weeks.
