Peschici, a coastal town in Italy’s Puglia region, is moving forward with a €5.8 million (around $6.9 million USD) set of works at the Port of Peschici, aimed at completing upgrades and improving safety at the marina.

The municipal executive has acknowledged the final design for the port works, which outline changes to facilities and services intended for both tourism-related and commercial maritime use. With this step, Peschici joins other Gargano towns, including Manfredonia, Rodi Garganico and Vieste, that already have marina infrastructure.
According to information published by ReteGargano, the plans involve adjustments to existing port structures, the use of additional space within the harbour area and improvements to on-site services. These changes are intended to support leisure boating, fishing activity, tourism operators and local users.
The municipality stated that the marina upgrade is expected to support visitor services, encourage local employment, protect the marine ecosystem and strengthen the connection between the port area and the town centre.
The decision represents an early stage in the administrative process. The project documents will be sent to the Puglia Region to begin the service conference procedure, during which relevant authorities will review the plans and issue their opinions.
The municipality confirmed that the design was prepared by its own technical office, led by architect Franco Delli Muti.
