Oman marked the beginning of two urban developments with a cornerstone ceremony on 1 December 2025. The event highlighted the Jood project in Sultan Haitham City and the Yamal project along the coast of Al Manuma, both intended to provide residential, commercial and recreational facilities.

Designed to reflect Oman’s maritime heritage, the Yamal project covers 220 hectares along the Sea of Oman and features a 1,760-metre waterfront. The development includes an international marina as well as hotels and recreational facilities. More than 6,000 residential and hospitality units are planned, with the first phase set to introduce 700 units.

The Jood project covers 270 hectares and is planned as a smart and sustainable community. It will include more than 7,000 residential units, alongside educational, healthcare, commercial and recreational facilities, as well as a social and sports club. The first phase will make 600 units available.

Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, attended the ceremony to mark the commencement of the two projects. The developments are led by Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG), a developer with over 55 years of experience in urban planning. TMG manages a land portfolio and operates hotels under the Four Seasons brand.

The initiatives support Oman Vision 2040, which focuses on economic diversification, private sector growth, investment stimulation and increasing domestic economic value. The projects are expected to contribute to economic growth while providing residential and commercial spaces intended for long-term use.
