Work continues on the redevelopment of IGY Vieux-Port de Cannes, a multi-million project aimed at upgrading the marina’s infrastructure and facilities. The redevelopment will expand berthing capacity, enhance maritime operations and introduce modern amenities across the port.

Valued at €82 million (approximately $95 million USD), the project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027. The project focuses on sustainability, including a carbon offset programme, charging stations for electric vehicles and boats, solar panels and the use of sustainable materials.
Emmanuel Messiaen, Port Director of IGY Vieux-Port de Cannes stated: “Our vision is to celebrate the heritage of Vieux-Port while giving Cannes the modern, world-class infrastructure it deserves. Every element of this redevelopment has been designed to respect the city’s historic character, while ensuring it continues to thrive as a vibrant, sustainable destination for decades to come.”
The first phase of the project, the Fisherman’s Village, has already been completed, with new facilities for the local fishing community. Around 90% of materials from the original structures were reused as part of the redevelopment’s environmental strategy.
Messiaen added: “It’s a project rooted in respect for the past. We’re reimagining spaces with sensitivity, creating a balance where tradition meets innovation – and where Cannes’ maritime soul continues to shine.”

Current work is focused on the Quai Laubeuf area, where developments include a new shipyard for vessels up to 30 metres, a cruise and ferry terminal, new port offices, underground parking for more than 500 vehicles and landscaped public gardens. The shipyard is expected to open by the end of 2025, with the cruise terminal scheduled for early 2028.
Along Jetée Albert Edouard, the breakwater is being extended to create nine new berths for superyachts up to 75 metres and an alongside berth for vessels up to 140 metres.
The redevelopment is being led by the City of Cannes under Mayor David Lisnard and delivered by Fayat Group in partnership with IGY Marinas. Once completed, IGY Vieux-Port de Cannes is expected to have 686 berths across an area of 4,817sqm, with 5,200sqm of dockside space at the JAE and Quai Esterel available for large-scale events.
The site remains operational during construction and continues to host events such as MIPIM, the Cannes Film Festival, Cannes Lions, the Cannes Yachting Festival and the Régates Royales.
