Milltown Marina & Boatyard and River Rock Marina have selected EliteMarinas, a marina management solution from Elite Dynamics built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, to support the next phase of their growth, the company has announced. Both marinas are located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, and are owned by the Musqueam Indian Band, with asset management by Musqueam Capital Corporation.

Elite Dynamics

As Milltown continued to grow and River Rock neared launch, the organisation's leadership saw an opportunity to modernise operations and build a more scalable model across both businesses, Elite Dynamics said.

With marina, finance and customer data spread across multiple applications and handling  between 800 and 900 card payments each month through manual workflows, the team wanted a solution that would bring marina operations, customer management, billing and finance into the same technology environment.

“Following a series of discovery workshops, Milltown Marina and River Rock selected EliteMarinas for its ability to connect marina operations, finance and customer engagement within a platform built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central,” Elite Dynamics announced. “Both marinas will be able to operate within one connected environment while maintaining the required separation between legal entities, financial records and reporting.”

By automating several of the manual processes identified during discovery, the organisation expects to free up between 67 and 118 hours of administrative effort each month, translating to an estimated annual efficiency saving of $36,180 CAD ($25,700 USD) to $63,720 CAD ($45,300 USD).

‍Connecting marina operations, finance and customer experience

Michael Mather, vice president of recreational assets at Musqueam Capital Corp, said the expansion made the decision clear.

“As we prepared to launch River Rock while continuing to grow Milltown Marina, we knew we couldn't simply add more manual processes as the business expanded,” Mather said. “We needed a platform that could connect our marina operations, finance and customer experience while still supporting the requirements of two separate businesses. EliteMarinas gave us that opportunity, backed by a team that understands how marinas operate.”

Jamie Gilman, business development manager for North America at Elite Dynamics, said the scale of the project stood out from the start.

“What stood out during our early conversations was the scale of what the team is building across Milltown Marina and River Rock,” Gilman said. “With a second marina coming online, adding more disconnected systems or manual administration simply wasn't going to be sustainable. EliteMarinas gives the team a way to connect operations, finance and customer services while retaining the structure they need across both businesses.”

“We're really pleased to be working with them as River Rock launches and the wider marina operation continues to grow,” he said.
