Marinetek has appointed the Pathumthani Concrete Company (PACO Group) as its new distributor for pontoons and floating solutions in Thailand. The agreement was signed on 9 July 2025 at the Finnish embassy in Bangkok, representing a step for the company’s growth in Southeast Asia.

The ceremony was attended by Finland’s ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos, and Mr. Kai Tuorila, Counsellor for Trade and Development.
Ruurd van Putten, Area Director of Marinetek Southeast Asia, said: “With the PACO Group we are confident we have found a trustworthy and professional partner for further growth of our business activities in Thailand and Southeast Asia. They have an impressive network and customer base in the private, commercial and governmental sector.”
Established in 1978, the Pathumthani Concrete Company has decades of experience in manufacturing pre-cast concrete products, piling and marine works. The company’s expertise and reputation for quality provide a foundation for promoting Marinetek’s concrete pontoons in the region.
Mr Songkierti Khunkitti, Managing Director of the Pathumthani Concrete Company, stated: “We look forward to cooperation with Marinetek, where we can use our longstanding relationships with our customers from the piling business to sell and install more, safer and stronger concrete pontoons in Thailand.”

The partnership aims to advance multiple market segments, with a focus on Thailand’s marina industry. Yachting and marinas have recently gained recognition as important elements of the country’s tourism sector. Additionally, infrastructure development for waterway passenger transport and renewable energy projects, especially floating solar photovoltaic (FPV) plants, represent key growth areas.
Marinetek has applied its expertise in marina construction to develop floating solutions tailored to the challenges in the FPV industry. The company's innovations have attracted support from the Finnish Embassy and Team Finland. Founded in 1994, Marinetek offers a broad range of pontoons and floating structures. The company serves customers in more than 50 countries and has completed over 2,500 projects worldwide, including marinas in Dubai, Malta, Greece and the Palm Jumeirah.
