Marina Technologies (MTI) has been selected to manufacture a new fixed aluminium frame dock system for Harbortown Marina in Fort Pierce, Florida, as the marina replaces its ageing timber docks. The project is scheduled for completion by late 2026.

Bolchoz Marine Advisors, based in North Palm Beach, designed the marina upgrade, while Brothers Construction is responsible for the demolition, concrete pile installation, dock installation and boat lift work.

The new system will use MTI’s System S-190 with composite decking, featuring docks measuring eight feet (2.4 metres) wide and finger piers measuring six feet (1.8 metres) wide, available in lengths of 36ft (11 metres) and 50ft (15 metres).

Bob Berry, MTI’s vice president and project development manager, said: “Our heavy aluminium-frame system spans 16ft between pile supports, compared to 10ft spacing for timber systems, which significantly reduced the number of piles required, lowering both project costs and installation time.”

Berry added that the finger piers are notched around the boat lifts to allow closer access to the vessel from the dock.
