Marina Port Vell in Barcelona has signed a collaboration agreement with the neighbouring Barcelona Port Heliport, allowing clients of the marina to access helicopter services directly. The move introduces a new level of mobility for superyacht owners, guests and crew, linking them with destinations including Palma, Ibiza, the Costa Brava and Girona Airport’s private jet terminal.

Under the agreement, the heliport, which is located adjacent to the marina, provides helicopter landing, refuelling and passenger services. Travellers can reach Marina Port Vell in under three minutes from the heliport via a short tender journey. The service is available for clients using their own helicopters as well as those chartering private flights.
The partnership supports Marina Port Vell’s ongoing development as a key international hub for large yachts. It also addresses growing demand for flexible and time-efficient travel options among clients navigating the western Mediterranean.
In addition to regular transfers, the agreement includes tailored flight services during major events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix and bespoke charters for small groups. The heliport can also accommodate overnight aircraft stays.
According to Marina Port Vell, the ability to offer direct helicopter access gives the facility a clear operational advantage. The marina is continuing to build its reputation as a strategic point of entry to Barcelona for vessels of up to 190 metres, supported by a range of shore-side services.

In July 2024, Marina Port Vell completed a €20 million infrastructure upgrade that began in 2021. The multi-year investment aimed to improve the quality and capacity of its services for superyachts. The transformation included water-space optimisation, a new fuel supply system and a landscaping project.
Currently, the marina offers 73 berths and features one of the longest quays in the Mediterranean at 400 metres. Facilities include mooring support, security, a concierge service and a permanent reception desk.
Located in central Barcelona, Marina Port Vell serves as both a maritime and economic asset for the city and the wider Catalan coastline. Its latest partnership with the Barcelona Port Heliport is expected to reinforce its position within the international yachting sector.
