Marina di Imperia has received five expressions of interest from Italian and international groups after closing a market consultation for the completion of its marina redevelopment works. Launched on 1 April, the consultation sought technical and economic input from operators in the recreational boating sector.

The company will now review the proposals before presenting its findings to the Municipality of Imperia, which is preparing the next tender stage for the marina project after the European Court of Justice revoked the previous procedure over pre-emption rights.

The redevelopment process began after Marina di Imperia signed a 65-year concession in September 2025 to complete and manage the marina, followed by the launch of a preliminary market consultation in October 2025.

Plans for the marina include more than 1,200 berths for vessels from five to 90 metres in length, including 782 berths for recreational boating and 453 for local fishing vessels. The project also includes a hotel, yacht club facilities, retail areas, residences and public spaces.

The redevelopment is expected to cost around €159 million ($185 million USD) excluding VAT, with works scheduled for completion within seven years.

While redevelopment plans continue, Marina di Imperia has reported high berth occupancy for the 2026 summer season. On 13 May 2026, the marina said it had reached a record 900 occupied berths, the highest figure recorded in the marina’s history. Berths for yachts between 50 and 90 metres were also fully booked, with a waiting list for arrivals.
