Lake Mead Mohave Adventures (LMMA) has launched a $10 million USD upgrade of Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina at Lake Mohave, Nevada. The project aims to expand marina capacity and update existing facilities under a long-term lease with the National Park Service.

The upgrade includes 50 additional covered slips to increase space for both long-term and overnight berthing. It will also add 50 electrical pedestals and 60 concrete anchors, along with new cabling to support the updated layout.

Roof structures are planned for three docks, while the main walkway will be extended by 435ft (132 metres) and supported by four additional anchors. The existing decking will be replaced with garapa wood, and a roof will also be added over the fuel dock. These works are expected to be completed by late November 2026.

At Ski Cove Beach, plans include 20 cabanas, as well as paddle craft rentals and portable restrooms, together with beach clean-up and invasive species removal. The Cottonwood Motel is set for interior upgrades, with changes also planned for the retail and food service areas. Overall, the project is set to run over the next ten years.

Lisa Duncan, senior director of operations at Lake Mead Mohave Adventures, stated: “This expansion is the largest to-date ever undertaken at Cottonwood Cove since its beginning. By expanding slip availability and upgrading critical marina infrastructure, we’re ensuring the marina continues to meet demand while honouring the environmental and historic importance of this location.”

The project follows a 25-year lease agreement signed in 2024 between LMMA and the National Park Service, which includes a redevelopment plan covering investment in both marina facilities and visitor amenities.
