Seattle Boat Company began construction on a complete rebuild of Lake Tapps Marina in Washington in August 2025. The facility, which has long been a centre for the local boating community, is expected to reopen in summer 2026 with major upgrades.

The project includes a purpose-built marina building, modern dry rack storage, a dedicated fuel dock and a redesigned service flow aimed at reducing turnaround times. Additional plans feature a private launch ramp for valet and boat club members, a new showroom and the arrival of FunShare Boat Club at Lake Tapps.
“This is about creating something that honours how people actually use Lake Tapps. We’re building for the future while keeping the values and service our customers count on,” said Jeff Bohling, co-president at Seattle Boat Company.

Lake Tapps is home to more than 380 waterfront households and over 52,000 residents in the surrounding area. The marina has served boaters for many years and the rebuild reflects a response to increased demand and evolving community needs.
During construction, on-site operations remain closed, but the Lake Tapps team offers to continue to provide service from the Kent Rigging Center. Customers are still able to access winterisation, detailing and maintenance, with complimentary valet pick-up and delivery available throughout the project.
