Ingman Marine has confirmed it has entered into an agreement to acquire Cannons Marina on Longboat Key, with the closing of the deal expected soon.

The move will make Cannons Marina the fourth Ingman Marine location across Southwest Florida and extend the dealership’s reach in Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte Counties. Ingman Marine said the agreement strengthens its long-standing partnership with Grady-White Boats.
Mike Brimer, CEO of Ingman Marine, said: “When legacies merge, customers win. Together, Ingman Marine and Cannons Marina bring more than 135 years of combined history. That means unmatched expertise, trusted service and award-winning partnership with Grady-White – all continuing for generations to come.”
The history of the marina stretches back to the late 1940s when Ernie Cannon set up a fishing camp on the barrier island. In 1955, Michigan engineer Paul Miller purchased the property and gradually shifted it from a bait shop and boat rental business into a dealership. His son David returned from college in the 1970s, bought Cannons from his father and continued its expansion while keeping it under family ownership.
Ingman Marine has operated for more than 45 years and remains family-run in its fourth generation. The company is known for its partnerships with Grady-White Boats and Yamaha Outboard Motors. Both Ingman Marine and Cannons Marina have been recognised nationally as award-winning Grady-White dealers.
