Greece’s Ministry of Tourism has approved the site for a planned marina in Kassiopi, with the location confirmed on 8 April 2026 during a meeting with national and regional officials. The project is intended to support maritime tourism and economic activity in the area.

According to the Municipality of North Corfu, those present included mayor George Machimaris, tourism minister Olga Kefalogianni and Ionian Islands regional governor Ioannis Trepeklis, along with deputy mayor for technical services Chariton Koutsouris.
The marina is planned along the coastal area of Imerolia, southwest of Kassiopi, covering about 9.3 hectares and divided into five sections with designated uses.
Plans allow for up to 3,000sqm of building space, including administrative, operational and commercial facilities. The marina is expected to provide over 240 berths for recreational vessels, with services such as water, electricity, communications systems and fire protection. Public areas, road access, parking and green spaces are also included in the layout.
The municipality said the project aims to improve the coastal area and support the local tourism economy. It also acknowledged the late Spyros Zervopoulos for supporting the idea of a marina in the area and contributing to plans for maritime tourism development in North Corfu.
