Following its soft launch last year, IGY Savannah Harbor Marina in Georgia officially celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, 24 April 2026.

The marina was first announced in February 2024, and was developed by IGY Marinas in partnership with Savannah Harbor Partners LLC. The inner basin opened in May 2025, with dockage designed for large vessels introduced in June.

Located along the Savannah River on Hutchinson Island, the marina has 105 slips and about 1,300ft (396 metres) of river dockage, accommodating vessels up to 350ft (107 metres) in length. It also offers both short-term and annual berthing options, along with fuelling services for marine diesel and gasoline.

The marina sits within a 36-acre site and has received transient superyachts, Intracoastal Waterway cruisers and members of the local boating community, as well as visitors from wider nautical markets.

At the ceremony, Steven English, CEO of IGY Marinas, said: “Seeing IGY Savannah Harbor Marina come to life is incredibly exciting. We are proud to welcome boaters and visitors to this new IGY marina that offers world-class infrastructure and services, honors Savannah’s maritime heritage and helps drive the economic development of this community.”

Jedison Knowles, Marina Manager at IGY Savannah Harbor Marina, said: “This is a special environment for all types of boaters and itineraries. Whether you’re simply stopping by for a night or an annual slipholder, there is always something new to discover, amazing people to meet and an IGY team here to help.”

The Savannah Convention Center on the island hosts more than 200 events each year. Residential buildings near the marina have begun welcoming residents, with plans for additional restaurants, retail and hospitality areas still underway.

John Cay, principal of Savannah Harbor Partners LLC, stated: “The marina is the vibrant centerpiece in a development which will be defined by exceptional architecture, landscape and incomparable waterfront park.”
