IGY Marinas has officially opened the inner basin at Savannah Harbor Marina, unveiling 95 new berths to accommodate vessels from small recreational crafts to large superyachts in an East Coast location. Situated on Hutchinson Island along the Savannah River, the marina enhances Savannah’s reputation as a yachting destination while strengthening its waterfront development.

Located adjacent to the Savannah Convention Center and The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, IGY Savannah Harbor Marina is a part of the city’s growing mixed-use waterfront community. The facility serves vessels with lengths up to 250-meter (820-feet) and drafts up to 12-meters (40-feet), with no limitations on beam width. The facility was developed in collaboration with Savannah Harbor Partners LLC, and offers over 1,100 linear feet of deep-water dockage for superyachts, with full commissioning of the River Dock expected in the coming weeks.

The marina’s design allows access for large vessels, which offers no air draft or depth limitations. Located five miles from the Intracoastal Waterway and 25 minutes from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, the marina provides a stopover for transiting yachts and a convenient home port for cruising vessels.

A combination of MEECO-Sullivan Wahoo Docks in the inner basin and Marinetek concrete pontoons along the River Dock supports a range of vessel sizes. Myrick Marine Contracting Corporation served as the general contractor on the project. The site operates as a USCG-regulated facility in compliance with ISPS security and foreign waste handling standards, which ensure full international accessibility.

Boaters benefit from high-speed fuelling, ample shore power and IGY’s concierge services. The surrounding development offers immediate access to parks, retail spaces, dining venues and the recently completed EmmaJames residential apartments. A waterfront restaurant is also in development to enhance visitor amenities.

CEO of IGY Marinas, Steven English, commented: “We are excited to officially welcome the global yachting community to IGY Savannah Harbor Marina. Savannah has long been a celebrated destination for its rich maritime heritage, and we’re proud to offer a modern, best-in-class facility that connects travellers with the charm, culture and hospitality of this incredible city.”

Jedison Knowles, Marina General Manager, stated, “We are proud to bring a new standard of marina excellence to Savannah, and we look forward to welcoming boaters, residents, and visitors to experience everything IGY Savannah Harbor Marina has to offer.”
