Helix Mooring Systems, an eco-safe helical screw mooring systems provider, and Marinapy, a cloud-based marina management platform, have announced a global partnership to help marina and mooring operators adopt more sustainable alternatives to traditional anchoring.

Marinapy handles day-to-day marina operations, including berth and mooring reservations, customer service, payments, accounting and shipyard activities. Its database contains more than 20,000 pre-digitised marinas with individual berths mapped, supported by AI-assisted onboarding and ready-to-use operational templates. On the infrastructure side, Helix designs, permits, installs and supports helical screw mooring systems for marina operators, harbour authorities, charter fleets and superyacht owners. The company operates through MyWorkSafe in New Zealand and PT Helix Mooring Systems Indonesia.
Together, the companies aim to help marina and mooring operators respond to growing anchoring restrictions and marine protection measures across the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Pacific and Southeast Asia. These restrictions are driving a shift away from traditional chain-and-block moorings, which can damage seagrass meadows, coral reefs and other sensitive marine habitats as chains drag across the seabed with tides, wind and vessel activity.
The partnership builds on Helix’s technology, which uses a near-vertical elastic tether instead of a swinging chain to reduce the swing radius and continued disturbance to the seabed. The company will design and supply the systems and support their installation, while Marinapy will provide the software for managing and commercialising the sites. Deployment is already underway through a phase 1 project with OceanGardeners at Nusa Penida in Bali, Indonesia, with other projects progressing in New Zealand and across the Pacific.
Lin Ronald, founder and CEO of Helix Mooring Systems, said: “Marinapy gives us two things that would have taken years to build independently: a global footprint of pre-mapped marinas and a proven digital platform for commercial operations. Combined with our eco-safe mooring technology and deployment expertise, we can offer operators a practical and scalable path to sustainable mooring.”
Olivier Dufour, founder and CEO of Marinapy, commented: “Helix solves the physical infrastructure challenge; Marinapy solves the operational and commercial one. By bringing the two together, operators can move from deploying an eco-mooring field to managing customers, reservations and revenue within the same solution. Our ambition is to make sustainable mooring easier to deploy and commercially viable at scale.”
