The Port of Hood River is seeking developers for the redevelopment of Marina East and Marina West, located within its marina basin in Hood River, Oregon. A Request for Developer Interest (RFDI) was issued on 19 February 2026, with responses due by 23 April 2026.

The process invites developers and businesses to share ideas for the two waterfront sites, including possible lease arrangements and partnership approaches. The port stated that this stage is for gathering input and does not involve financial offers or contract awards.
Marina East and Marina West cover around 2.6 acres of port-owned land in a waterfront area used for recreation, marine activities and local businesses. The sites are located north of E Port Marina Drive, close to Marina Green, Marina Park, the marina boat basin and a waterfront trail network, with access to nearby shops and public spaces.
Both sites contain older commercial buildings that no longer meet current standards. The Marina East building, about 3,035sqft (about 282sqm), is partly occupied by an acupuncture clinic. The Marina West building is around 1,904sqft (177sqm) and is leased to the Oregon DMV.
The port said the buildings require significant investment and have been operating at a loss, with rental income not covering full operating costs. Current leases for both tenants are due to end on 31 December 2026.
From 1 July 2026, toll revenue from the Hood River-White Salmon Bridge will no longer be used for port operations and will instead go towards the bridge replacement project. The change means the port will depend more on income from its waterfront and property assets.
Through the RFDI, the port is asking for ideas that can support ongoing marina activity, maintain public access and provide year-round community benefits.
