In May 2025, Grand Harbour Marina participated in the Power4Med Marina Managers’ Programme held in Athens, Greece. The programme highlights a focus on environmental innovation within Malta’s yachting industry.

Grand Harbour Marina joined five other Maltese representatives for a series of technical site visits and knowledge-sharing sessions in Athens. The delegation included peers from Creek Marina, Manoel Island Marina, Mgarr Marina, Roland Marina and Yachting Malta.

During the programme, participants explored best practices at Greece’s D-Marin Zea Marina and Flisvos Marina, visited the iconic Corinth Canal and attended the Mediterranean Boat Show in Nafplion. The exposure to environmental solutions, from solar-powered infrastructure and robotic water cleaners to smart recycling hubs, offered valuable insights for future application at the marina in Malta.

Candela Aimaro of Grand Harbour Marina stated, “It was really inspiring to see and learn from other marinas across Europe, and it’s given us great insight into how our marina can continue to grow in a more sustainable way.”

Located in the Grand Harbour of Valletta, the marina offers over 250 berths, including 26 dedicated to superyachts up to 135-metres. Each berth is serviced with water, electricity and Wi-Fi connectivity. The marina also offers a suite of amenities, such as a Mediterranean-style clubhouse, on-site gym and concierge services tailored to individual needs, which includes fueling, provisioning and technical support from certified contractors.
The marina has ongoing assessments into the adoption of electric service vehicles and improved waste management systems. While still in early phases, the initiatives are part of a broader commitment to minimise environmental impact while upholding the marina’s service standards.

As part of the Camper & Nicholsons global network, the marina maintains the group’s standards while actively embracing the shift towards sustainable luxury in the maritime sector. Power4Med, the programme’s organising body, aims to guide Mediterranean maritime sectors toward carbon neutrality. The initiative supports the deployment of alternative fuels and energy-efficient technologies across the region.
