Glyn’s Marine was sold to BlueWater Marinas in partnership with Bain Capital for $5.5 million, Nantucket Current reported. Completed in July 2025, the transaction marks a new chapter for the .8-acre property, which will continue to operate under its existing team.

Glyn’s Marine

Founded over 40 years ago, Glyn’s Marine has built a reputation for offering marine services including dry boat storage, launching, hauling, winterising, spring conditioning, outboard servicing, hull repairs, sales and mooring maintenance.

BlueWater stated: “The heart of Glyn’s, its people, its values and its dedication to the island will remain the same. Under the ownership and leadership of Roger and Patti Stolte, the business has built a reputation for trust, reliability and hands-on care that has earned the loyalty of their customers.”

Joe Miller, founder and principal of BlueWater Marina and a summer resident of Nantucket, said they are committed to supporting the existing operations. “We are not here to change Glyn’s, rather we are here to support it with additional resources so that Glyn’s can continue to thrive for the long run.”

The Stoltes will remain involved during the transition, and the current Glyn’s Marine team will continue to oversee day-to-day operations.

In April 2025, BlueWater acquired Boathouse Marine Center in Pompano Beach, Florida. The previous year, it purchased the Harbor at Lemon Bay in Englewood, Florida. Its managed properties include Ripley Light Marina in Charleston, South Carolina.
