Gandía city council in Valencia, Spain, has approved the construction of the main building of the new Marina de Gandia as announced by mayor José Manuel Prieto on Thursday, 21 May 2026. The approval allows the project to proceed to the construction stage after administrative and financing requirements are completed.

With an investment of around €10 million ($11.5 million USD), the project is expected to create 50 direct jobs during construction and more than 200 direct and indirect jobs once operational.
The facilities will cover 1,440sqm and are divided into three sections, which will include areas for administrative services, nautical operations, catering, leisure, gastronomy and services for users and visitors.
Plans also include 268 moorings for vessels between six and 20 metres in length, a renovated harbour basin, updated technological systems and a rowing and sailing school to support water sports activities.
The Port Authority of Valencia board of directors has also approved the authorisation of a mortgage over the marina concession.
General coordinator for urban planning Maite Alonso said the concessionaire’s work plan will begin with dredging sediment from the seabed, with the esplanade potentially used temporarily to deposit dredged material before construction of the main building begins.
